tawnypaw
female | riverclan | six moons | apprentice

Appearance
tawnypaw has a pretty tortoiseshell pelt but she’s never happy with it. since she’s a riverclan feline a short and sleek pelt is preferred. her pelt is long and it pulls on her whenever she attempts to swim—she blames her fur for not being able to be a faster swimmer. plus it takes quite a long time to get rid of the water once she has swam. the whole ordeal is such a hassle, therefore she likes to stay out of the water to avoid lost time. she also has bright orange eyes and a lithe, muscular build.
Personality
nquisitive – deranged – cunning – calculative/analytic – crude – honest – ambitious
tawnypaw is very intelligent for her age. answers for her just come naturally but some of her clan mates claim that it’s because she was sent from the dark forest. every unique skill she possesses her clan mates think it is because she was made from the dark forest or corrupted in some way. the she-cat doesn’t correct them or ease their fears because she simply doesn’t care. their apprehension of her only amuses her especially the elders. the elders seem to clam up when she comes around or they send her glares, so tawnypaw likes to spend time with them. they have to tell her the stories of the past, it’s their only job and while she does like learning about the past, she also likes to see them squirm in her presence. she supposes she likes the mystery that seems to cloak her, even though she’s sure that all their wild tales are just that—tales. however, there is one thing tawnypaw wishes to no above all else. she wants to know about her mother, about her past, and about her father. she knows her mother is dead but no one knows anything about her father. she vowed to herself that she would find out who he is even if she has to leave riverclan to do it.
the she-cat is also a bit demonic. since she loves learning and she’s especially intrigued by anatomy. so she’ll go off on her own and pick apart insects to see how they adapt without one of their wings or their legs. she does it for scientific purposes only—hurting others doesn’t excite her in the least. if she values something (like knowledge) she won’t feel any remorse hurting someone to gain something she considers more valuable. but other than that she is a quiet, observant individual who wouldn’t hurt anyone without significant purpose.
History
tawnypaw’s mother was named blackbloom and she never had the chance to meet her. the she-cat was very secretive and nobody ever really knew a lot about her. blackbloom was a great warrior though and she never broke any of the rules. she brought home prey, went on patrols, and trained apprentices but other than that the clan didn’t know a whole lot about her. plus, blackbloom doesn’t have clan origins. she was abandoned on riverclan’s border when she was a new born kitten. her pelt smelled of rogue but even so they took her in and raised her as one of their own. when she became pregnant it was natural for her clan mates to wonder who the father could have possibly been. no tom visited her and no one dared to ask. then the tortoiseshell went into labor, it was long and painful. she gave birth to six kittens and none of them moved and mewled. the medicine cat couldn’t save her, she was losing too much blood, but before she passed she licked one of her kittens head and whispered, “tawnykit.” then she faded and passed on.
the medicine cat believed she was just confused and thought one of her kittens was alive. he pitied her, as did all the queens but then one of the kittens did start moving. tawnypaw didn’t mewl but she did managed to crawl toward her mother, attempting to nurse. that’s when the queens grew frightened of the kitten and claimed that it was cursed. the medicine cat thought they were being ridiculous and made them nurse the kitten. the queens were always unsettled by tawnypaw especially once she started mewling after the second day of nursing, and then when her eyes opened to reveal large orange eyes, the queens were freaked out. they would pass the kitten to one another, no one wanted the kitten in their nest for long for fear that something horrible might happen. nothing ever did it was just superstition.
it has only been recently that tawnypaw received her apprentice name and her mentor. some of her clan mates are still wary of her presence including the old queens and the elders.
