Appearance
I'm not going to lie to you and tell you Ivyheart is perfect, because she isn't. Any she-cat who can look into her reflection and find nothing wrong with them is either partly-blind or terribly narcissistic. But to be honest, Ivyheart isn't half bad to look at. In fact, she's sort of pretty. A mix of many breeds, Ivy mainly appears to be the cross between a Maine Coon and a Domestic Longhair. So yes, you guessed it, Ivyheart is one fluffy kitty. Her fur, plush and silver, seems almost to well groomed for a common stray, especially one who must work with plants on a daily basis. And although you can find the occasion leaf and bur buries beneath her heavy coat, Ivyheart is surprisingly clean.
Her eyes may be her most interesting feature, as they seem to blend with the greenery around her, the perfect shade to match the moss she works with. Not only are they pretty to look at, they are also how she received her name as a kit.
Despite her long legs and heavy coat, Ivyheart seems to move quite gracefully. And although she isn't as swift as other she-cats, she can easily defend herself against most cats with her great strength.
Personality
Ivyheart is... not very social, to put it mildly. In fact, she prefers to live in her world of medicine and set routines, and anything that breaks her routine comes as quite a shock to her. She's very introverted, and is almost always found with her nose in a pile of herbs. But these days, though, she's loosening up a little, with help from her apprentice.
Even still, Ivyheart takes a lot of time to warm up to people. She'll be polite if you talk to her, but only a few cats really know her. She doesn't make friends easily, but when she does, she's extremely loyal to them and would do anything for them. Any new friends are welcome though, especially since she's trying to loosen up a little and she needs all the help she can get. She thinks she doesn't need to fall in love to be complete, and can do perfectly well on her own, thank you very much.
Ivyheart is one of those types of cats who can be considered a downright bitch at times. She can be sweet and friendly when she wants to, but catch her at the wrong time and prepare yourself for a barrage of snark and temper (and, if she's in a particularly bad mood, blows). She hates that some tom cats consider the females in her clan to be only play-things, and swears that she will never have any attachment to a toms other than friendship.
If anyone is being a idiot, she'll tell them they're being a idiot no matter how close they are to her. However, to people she loves and is close to, she is a loving sister and a loyal friend. She always sticks up for her family and friends, and will do so even if they're clearly in the wrong. Still, like many Shadow Clan cats, Ivyheart does have a dark side, and has been known to break a few rules. Example? She's stolen before and given valuable medicine to her best friend, a kittypet, without her Leader's approval. Anything else? She's also had romantic connections with a River Clan tom, who died of fever shortly after. No biggie, just a few mistakes that have thankfully gone unnoticed.
History
Silverwhisker never meant to have kits. In fact, Ivykit and her siblings where actually a bit of a happy surprise. Or, at least that's what their parents called them. Born to two strong, successful Warriors, Ivyheart and her three siblings, Willowpelt, Rosethorn, and Mossclaw, were always expected to succeed them, and many of them did. However, Ivyheart was never much like her siblings. If Rosethorn was the witty one of the family, Willowpelt the strong one, and Mossclaw the goofball, Ivyheart considered herself the brain. She was rational, sensible, practical, analyzing situations thoroughly before jumping in. Her parents said that she was the one that rarely ever gave them trouble, only occasionally disturbing them to request she visit their medicine cat for some words of advice. So, it was already expected that she would ease through kithood and become the next Medicine Cat Apprentice. Which, of course she did, but not without controversy.
In her final three weeks of apprenticehood, Ivyheart found trouble in the form of a very appealing, smooth-talking River Clan apprentice. Glorypaw, they called him. They had met at his final Gathering and he had stolen her heart. Unfortunately, he had also stolen Rosethorn's. It didn't take long before karma caught up with him, not just because he had led two Shadow Clan apprentices on, but he had also been stealing from his clan. He died of a fever shortly after receiving his Warrior status, which was also when Ivyheart graduated from studious apprentice to know-it-all Medicine Cat. The entire ordeal had shaken her, yes, and she was obviously wrecked with guilt, but Ivyheart still remained surprisingly collected. No one knew of her short summer romance except her only sister, Rosethorn, who had to go through the trauma with her, so Ivy was sure she was still safe. But from then on, she had sworn not to break her Medicine Cat code and never take a second glance at another tom again. Unfortunetaly though, that was not the end of her troubles.
Throughout the rest of her young life, Ivyheart has still faced many troubles, all of which where her own fault, such breaking code and letting newborn kits die, merely due to their parent's history. But none of it has ever been documented, leaving Ivyheart's past as dull and uneventful as her day to day life, a routine that has never been broken. But some little piece of Ivyheart still yearns for adventur, no matter how frequently she may deny it, and despite her seemingly clean history, there is still a part of her that has and always will be dark.
