"Much virtue in herbs, little in men."
Owlpaw
Male | ShadowClan | Eight Moons | Medicine Cat Apprentice

Appearance
Owlpaw has a very average build. He isn't too terribly small and he isn't very large, either. His distinguishable ears are folded down against his head, but despite this he has excellent hearing. He is often teased for his flat ears, making him very defensive and snappish about them. His fur is a dark brown color with even darker tabby stripes, which act as great camoflauge in the ShadowClan forests. His eyes are a dusky mix of green and brown, giving them an almost hazel color. He has a cold, unapproachable air about him despite his ultimately very polite attitude.
Personality
Owlpaw is very blunt, cold, and cynical towards cats. He is a strong realist, and most things to him are in coarse black and white, with no grey in betweem. He has a bad habit of using curses in discussion and doesn't really care when he does. He is oftentimes focused on other things and can be labeled “spacey” to the point of losing things. Owlpaw can also be described as very obsessive-compulsive, and if one thing is off-center or one thing is not neat or perfect, he will become very upset and seethe over it for several hours.
History
Owlpaw was born as the fourth-oldest in a litter of five toms. How that was possible, he didn't even know. His brothers, from order of oldest to youngest, were Brush, Jay, Aspen, him (Owl), and Cedar. Right from the start, they all seemed to suffer from serious sibling rivalry, though it was more one-sided than anything. Brush, Jay, and Aspen thought that the three of them were perfectly fine on their own and didn't need Owl or Cedar around, and that they (Owl and Cedar) were the “extra kits.” Cedar eventually formed his own reason to hate Owl, that because of him their brothers never noticed the youngest cat. Owl simply hated them all right back and their parents, Alder and Ivy, didn't know what they could do about it, if they could do anything at all.
Because of this inexplicable hatred, Owl often found himself alone when the kits were supposed to be playing with each other. Brush, Jay, and Aspen played together and Owl was often tagged by Cedar, who only followed him to insult him from afar. When Alder was trying to train the brothers how to fight, the three eldest demanded that they be trained separately from the other two, and then Cedar demanded that he was trained separate from Owl. Exiled from the rest of his family, the only cat Owl could seek comfort from was his mother. Ivy taught Owl about medicinal herbs, something she herself ahd learned from her mother, and so on. The others teased Owl for pursuing such a feminine practice, but Owl was fascinated by what all of the different plants he had formerly disregarded as simple decorations in the area could actually do.
However, Owl began to get increasingly more impatient with his brothers' ceaseless taunting and one night when he was deemed old enough, he simply withdrew himself from the family picture. Ivy was disheartened to see her favorite son leave, but she secretly knew that it would be best for everyone. Alder too, was sad to see him go but the siblings' rivalry had increased to the point of physical violence and it was best to diffuse the bomb one wire at a time. So Owl took to his own, taking his knowledge of medicinal herbs with him. He traveled for about one moon, sleeping in different areas and practicing his medicine until one night, he stumbled into a dark territory. He was discovered by a group of cats that he later learned were warriors of ShadowClan. Begrudingly, Owl gave them his name and his knowledge and he was brought back to the camp, where he was named Owlpaw, the medicine cat apprentice.
