Appearance
Cricketpaw is... Unusual. Her coat is a silky, rich brown in color, with darker black streaked through it. Her chest and paws are white, and there is a small splatter of white across her spine. On one leg, she has three darker colored rings, as well as a darker framing of fur around her eyes. Her form is quite small, so it's no question that she is not one of the best fighters in the clan. However, due to being fast on her feet, she is swift and cunningly lethal. Cricketpaw stands taller, yet thinner than many of the other Shadowclan cats, though she is still not quite the size of a full-grown warrior. Merely, she has longer back legs, giving her immense running and jumping capabilities. Her nose is a light, blush pink, off-setting eerie yellow eyes.
Personality
Cricketpaw is very keen on getting what she wants. She doesn't take no for an answer, and when she is denied, the young apprentice gets more than a little cranky. Not knowing how to handle denial, Cricketpaw tends to go about things in a very sadistic manor. For one so young, the art of manipulation comes rather easily. Batting those soulful eyes, speaking in that small, innocent voice, is it really so hard to deny one so cunningly cute? As frigid as winter with a heart to match, Cricketpaw won't let anyone or anything stand in her way. Her personalities are constantly changing depending on those she is around. For instance, one would think cats her own age would be on her side, yet it's quite obvious the contempt that Cricketpaw holds for the other apprentices, though she is sure not to show it around a warrior.
Observant and thoughtful, she watches from the shadows, waiting to make her move. Cricketpaw may be a spoiled brat, but she knows how to be patient. When begging and threats don't work is when she waits for the perfect moment to pounce. In a tight situation, she's one of the quick-thinkers you'd want by your side, but her sharp tongue can be a bit off-putting at first. Still a bit on the naiive side, Cricketpaw has a natural curiousity about her, though she tends to sate it by going places and doing things that could very well get her killed, so perhaps this inept curiousness isn't so good after-all.
Hiding behind a mask, one could say that it's particularly easy for Cricketpaw to decieve even herself. She's never been one to allow her true feelings to show, but faking takes it's toll especially on one so young. When she's had enough, it's not unusual for the she-cat to simply snap, finding a reason to be mad with anyone or anything in the world. Could it be possible that she is simply mad at herself? Maybe. But unless someone breaks through the figurative thorn barriers she has placed around herself, the world may never know who she truly is.
History
Cricketpaw was born to a litter of two, her brother stilborn and herself alive and well. Soon after the young females birth, her mother died of blood-loss, and being the last one born Cricketpaw's father blamed her for the death of his beloved mate. After the deaths of his kit and mate, the young she-cats father Crow left her abandoned to fend for herself in the middle of the forest. Born outside of the clans, her father hadn't known he was placing her at their mercy. Being only a kit, it was no question that she was taken in and given to a queen to take care of. But things were not as they seemed.
As soon as she was old enough to understand, the female, only four moons old at the time, was told of her true past, and the fact that she was not really a full-blooded Shadowclan cat. In fact, she didn't have a drop of Shadowclan blood in her at all. Due to this dam bursting free, Cricketpaw closed herself off from the other cats in the clan. She figured that if they had lied to her about something so simple such as her birth, then they would all easily lie again.
However, she stayed with the clan, wishing to prove that she could be just as good as any of the other clan-born apprentices. Nowadays Cricketpaw strives to be the best apprentice in the clan, even going as far as to sabotage other's to come out looking like a star. But this kind of behaviour can only go on so long before someone gets hurt. Is that what it will come to? Or will the cat be out of the bag all too soon?
